Villanova Career: Four-time All-BIG EAST performer in his career, earning the plaudit in the 100 Back, 200 Back, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Medley Relay … Became the program’s top performer in the 100 IM as a sophomore … Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and was a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for two semesters.
2022-23: Had a pair of top-three individual swims against NJIT, finishing first in the 100 Back (51.74) and third in the 200 Back (1:55.13), and swam opening leg of the 200 Medley Relay to help the B team to a third place finish (1:35.47) with a split of 24.04.
2021-22: Tabbed All-BIG EAST in the both the 100 Back and 200 Back … Broke the program record for the 100 IM early in the season against La Salle, posting a time of 52.82;
BIG EAST Championships (2/23-26): Finished top three in the 100 Back and 200 Back, posting times of 48.79 and 1:46.63, respectively … Led the team in both events on the year while also turning in a season and career-best time with a 23.04 50 Back in the 200 Medley Relay … Recorded a new personal best in the 200 IM at the BIG EAST Championship, touching the wall in 1:46 … Was the opening leg for the 200 Medley relay squad at the BIG EAST Championships that turned in the third-fastest time in program history at 1:29.61, good enough for fourth place;
Penn State (1/28): Had a pair of top-five individual swims … Touched fifth in the 100 Back (52.08) with a third-place showing in the 200 Back (1:52.80) … Swam opening leg for the 200 Medley Relay team that finished fourth in 1:54.39;
West Virginia (1/22): Collected three top-three finishes in the meet against West Virginia, winning the 200 Back with a time of 1:51.96;
Pittsburgh: Was top-five in all three swims … Landed fifth in the 200 Back at 1:54.70 … Posted fourth-place finishes in the 100 Back and 400 IM with times of 52.19 and 4:13.08, respectively;
Providence (1/15): Had the top time in the 200 Back at Providence, winning in 2:06.29;
La Salle (11/23): Won the 50 back against the Explorers in 23.93;
WVU Invitational (11/18-20): Set a new personal best in the 100 Back (relay) with a 49.80 split … Collected five top-10 showings, three in individual swims and two in relay performances … Was fifth in the 200 Back with a 1:48.61 time after winning the prelims in 1:47.86 … Touched the wall third in the 100 Back with a 49.82 time;
Penn (11/10): Turned in second-place swims in both the 100 Back (52:08) and 400 IM (4:14.93);
NJIT (11/5): Picked up a trio of second-place performances in the 100 Back (51.50), 200 Back (1:51.85) and the 200 Medley Relay (1:35.56);
Georgetown (10/30): Touched the wall third in the 100 Back with a 52.81 time … Opening leg for the 200 Medley Relay team that touched third in 1:35.26.
2020-21: Earned All-BIG EAST honors as part of the Wildcats lineup in both the 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard medley relay at the conference championships … Tallied a pair of top-eight finishes individually in the 100 yard backstroke and the 200 yard backstroke while advancing to the consolation final of the 400 yard individual medley … Recorded personal best times in all three of his individual events at the BIG EAST meet … His times in both backstroke events were the fastest on the team during the season … Led off the 200 medley relay on the first night of the conference meet with a split of 23.45 on the backstroke leg of the race … Villanova eventually came in third in the relay with a time of 1:30.76 … Led off the 400 medley relay two nights later with a split of 49.88 as the Wildcats tallied another third place finish with a time of 3:20.61 … His split represents a personal best time for a 100 yard backstroke … His best individual finish at the meet was a tie for a fourth place finish in the championship final of the 200 back … Tallied a PR of 1:49.08 in the final after ranking fourth in the preliminaries in 1:49.11 … Came in sixth in the final of the 100 back with a time of 50.29 … He stood in fourth place in that event after swimming a PR of 50.12 in the preliminaries … Finished 11
th in the 400 IM … Posted times of 4:02.95 in the prelims and 4:02.71 in the final … Made his collegiate debut against Drexel and was the winner in the 100 back with a time of 52.48 … Also led off the Wildcats “B” entry in the 200 medley relay … The team finished fourth in the race with a time of 1:37.45 … Came in second in the 200 back (1:53.01) and third in the 100 back (52.44) in addition to leading off the “B” teams in both the 200 medley and 400 yard freestyle relays versus Seton Hall … Placed third in the 100 back (52.53) and fourth in the 200 back (1:55.65) versus Loyola (Md.) … Led off the 400 medley relay for a Villanova team which came in second with a time of 3:29.44 … Led off for the “B” squad which finished fourth in the 400 free relay in 3:20.25.
Club Swimming: Competed for WHAT Swimming for four years … Former Connecticut state record holder in the 800 yard freestyle relay … Was a Winter Junior Championship qualifier … Set team records in multiple events.
Kingswood-Oxford School: Earned two varsity letters in swimming as a freshman and a sophomore … Won multiple Division 2 New England championships … Achieved Honor Roll status academically all four years of high school.
Personal: Born 4/16/02 in Hartford, Conn. … Older of two sons of Matthew and Michelle Brown … Has a younger brother, Owen (18) … Hobbies include watching movies and spending time with family and friends … Chose to attend Villanova for the culture of the swimming & diving program as well as the beautiful campus and the opportunity to get a great overall education … Has yet to declare a major.
