AS A COACH:
Benevento enters his third season on the coaching staff in 2024-25 and first as an Assistant Coach... He spent the past two seasons as a Volunteer Assistant Coach...  In his first year on staff in 2022-23, he and the coaching staff led Villanova to its best season scoring average at 294.39... The Wildcats also set single season records for most birdies (408) and highest win total (two) while winning the first ever consecutive team titles in program history.

AS A STUDENT:

2019-20: Compiled a 76.60 stroke average while playing 15 rounds over five tournaments … His best finish of the season came at the team’s fall home tournament.

2018-19: Made his Villanova debut and was one of three players on the team to appear in all 12 tournaments and 30 rounds the Wildcats played … Finished second on the team with a 74.93 stroke average for the year … Averaged +3.53 strokes above par in his 30 rounds and fired five rounds below par, including a low score of 66 (-5) in the second round of the Wildcat Invitational at White Manor CC … Finished as runner-up and earned All-Tournament honors at the 2019 BIG EAST Championship.

Personal: Born 6/10/97 … One of two children and the only son of Mark and Melissa Benevento … Has a sister, Victoria … Grandfather played Major League Baseball for the San Francisco Giants … Management major and Real Estate minor in the Villanova School of Business.
