Wildcats To Take On Howard And Wagner This Weekend

Wildcats Back in Bryn Mawr for Two-Match Weekend

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Villanova University men's tennis team returns to action this weekend with a pair of home matches against Howard and Wagner. The Wildcats are set to host Howard on Friday, February 6, followed by a matchup with Wagner on Saturday, February 7. Both contests will take place in Bryn Mawr, Pa.

Villanova heads into the weekend looking to rebound after opening its spring schedule on the road last week. The Wildcats faced Delaware and Drexel in their first two matches, falling by identical 7-0 scores. Despite the results, Villanova found success in doubles play, as Jones and Sherner earned a victory against the Blue Hens, while Anand and Wakefield picked up a win versus Drexel.

Howard began its spring season last weekend with a 6-1 loss to Georgetown. The Bulls were originally slated to open the year against Mount St. Mary's, but that contest was postponed due to snow. Howard concluded the 2025 season with a 6-14 overall record and a 1-4 mark in MEAC play.

Wagner enters the weekend riding early momentum, having won its first three matches of the season. The Seahawks will face Sacred Heart on Friday before traveling to take on Villanova. Wagner finished the 2025 campaign at 6-15 overall, including a 1-4 record in conference action. Villanova holds a perfect 3-0 all-time record against the Seahawks, highlighted by a 7-0 victory last season.

The Wildcats will open the weekend against Howard at 7 p.m. on Friday before closing out play against Wagner at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
