ELKTON, Md. – The Villanova University men's tennis team fell to Georgetown, 4-1, on Saturday morning (April 12) at Springton Tennis and Racquet.
Despite
Trey Fourticq and
Cooper Gordon claiming the second doubles flight by a score of 6-0, the Wildcats dropped the first and third flights, 7-5, surrendering the doubles point to Georgetown.
In singles,
Will Monahan picked up the only win for the 'Cats, defeated James O'Sullivan, 6-1, 6-3.
Cooper Gordon took Akira Morgenstern to a third set in the top flight, but ultimately fell, 6-0, 6-7 (5), 6-2.
Up next, Villanova will face Coppin State in its final regular season match on Sunday (April 13) at the Coppin State Tennis Courts in Baltimore, Md. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
