NEW YORK - Villanova Swimming and Diving had 23 members earn All-BIG EAST status due to their performances at the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships presented by JEEP held at SPIRE in Geneva, Ohio last week.
The All-BIG EAST squad is comprised of BIG EAST competitors who finished in the top three in any individual or relay event at the championships. Forty-two men and women earned honors. Villanova and UConn led with fourteen honorees each for the women while the Villanova men were third overall with nine athletes earning honors.
Anna Farley led the 'Cats with five All-BIG EAST performances – conference champion in the 800 Free Relay, Silver in both the 200 IM and 200 Fly, and bronze in the 400 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay.
Four Wildcats tied on the men's side with two All-BIG EAST performances.
Justin Nowicki is the conference champion in the 400 IM and earned bronze in the 200 Fly.
Patrick Hemingway,
Sam Randall and
Mikey Thurk earned bronze in the 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay.
