ORLANDO, Fla.—Fifth year throwers
Adria Retter (Quakertown, Pa.) and
Jordan Williams (Fresno, Calif.) continued to impact the all-time Villanova performance lists in the throwing events while fifth year sprinter
Jane Livingston (Lancaster, Pa.) began her outdoor season in strong fashion as the Knights Invite wrapped up at the UCF Track and Field Complex on Saturday afternoon. Six athletes were in action for the Wildcats in Orlando, while additional members of the team competed locally at the Penn Challenge.
One day after Retter and Williams moved onto the program's all-time top-10 list in the hammer they were back at it in the discus and the shot put, respectively, on Saturday morning. Retter tallied the 10
th-longest throw in school history in the discus with a mark of 49.44 meters, putting her into third place overall on the Villanova performance list in the event. Williams, who already ranked ninth overall in school history in the shot put, put herself into seventh place on the all-time outdoor list with a throw of 13.33 meters.
Livingston came in fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.66 and was followed by first year collegian
Ajanae Thompson (Rahway, N.J.) who placed seventh in 14.01 in her first collegiate 100 hurdles race. One other sprint event was on the Saturday schedule in Florida and fifth year runner
Madison Martinez (Gahanna, Ohio) posted a time of 56.31 in the 400 meters.
First year high jumper
Malaika Cunningham (St. Andrew, Jamaica), coming off a strong indoor season, finished fourth in her first collegiate outdoor competition after clearing the bar at 1.68 meters.
