CORAL GABLES, Fla.—Senior long jumper
Trinity Hart (Scotch Plains, N.J.) recorded her best mark of the season and moved up four spots on this year's BIG EAST performance list to highlight the results for Villanova during competition in the Hurricane Alumni Invitational at Cobb Stadium on Saturday afternoon. A total of five athletes competed for the Wildcats on Saturday in the high jump, long jump, 100 meter hurdles and 200 meters.
Hart tallied the second-longest jump of her collegiate career with a distance of 5.67 meters in Saturday's competition. She surged four spots on the BIG EAST performance list for the year and now ranks fourth in the conference. Hart is a four-time BIG EAST scorer in the long jump and notched the best result of her career at this year's indoor BIG EAST Championships when she tied for a fourth place finish. Her lifetime best mark in the long jump of 5.69 meters was set outdoors last year and Hart currently ranks fourth in school history in her signature event.
High jumpers
Sanaä Barnes (Keller, Texas) and
Roschell Clayton (Montego Bay, Jamaica) each cleared a height of 1.79 meters in their outdoor season debuts on Saturday afternoon. Clayton returned to action for the first time since January and tied the best outdoor mark of her career with Saturday's result. The result of 1.79 meters for both Barnes and Clayton mark the 11
th and 12
th times in the Villanova record book that Wildcats athletes have jumped at least that high during outdoor competition. Their marks tie them for second place on the BIG EAST performance list for the outdoor season.
Senior sprinter
Jada Thomas (Kingston, Jamaica) and junior
Jane Livingston (Lancaster, Pa.) were also in action for Villanova on Saturday afternoon. Thomas registered a time of 14.52 in the 100 meter hurdles and ran the 200 meters in 26.02.
