PHILADELPHIA –
Sade Meeks was the lone competitor through the first day of action at the 126
th Penn Relays from Franklin Field on Thursday, competing in the championship hammer throw.
The graduate thrower opened the event for all Villanova athletes. She tossed 49.83 meters in her second attempt, faulting in the other too. She closed out in 13
th.
The Penn Relays roll on Friday with a slew of events starting at 12 p.m. Field events will include discus and long jump at noon and shot put at 3 p.m. On the track, events are set to start at 1:45 p.m., starting with the distance medley relay before the 100 meter hurdles get underway at 2:55 p.m.
