Hellertown, Pa. - The Villanova men's golf team finished the first round of the ABARTA Collegiate Invitaitonal in 12th place, at +17. Of the 19 competing institutions, Iona currently sits atop the leaderboard at +4 (292).
For Villanova, senior
Matt Davis has led the way sitting tied for 10th place at +1. Graduate student
Matthew Copeland carded the second best score of the round for the 'Cats, as he shot a 74 (+2), tying for 18th. Sitting at +4 (76) is sophomore
Peter Weaver, while junior
Matt Minerva shot +6 (78), competing as an individual on day one. Rounding out the Wildcats lineup were freshman
Vimal Alokam at +10 (82) and senior
Jack O'Hara at +13 (85).
Day two is set to begin at Steel Club at 9 a.m. Monday with a shotgun start.
