A Visit to Seton Hall is Next for the Wildcats

Sides to battle Saturday night in South Orange, N.J.

VILLANOVA, Pa. – With just two regular season BIG EAST matches remaining and points at a premium, Villanova heads into New Jersey for a Saturday night duel with Seton Hall. Kickoff is set for 6:56 p.m. from Owen T. Carroll Field in South Orange, N.J. The BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports will stream the contest.

The Wildcats (5-7-2 overall, 2-5-1 BIG EAST) are looking to get back on track, after dropping Wednesday's match with Connecticut 1-0 at the Higgins Soccer Complex. The Wildcats entered October with a 4-2-2 mark but have dropped five of their last six in BIG EAST action. In that span,

"Our focus now is entirely on Seton Hall," stated Villanova head coach Tom Carlin. "We've gone through a rough stretch, but the key now is to focus on our game plan against a Seton Hall team that has played very well this season."

The Pirates suffered their first BIG EAST loss on Wednesday, 2-0, at first place Georgetown. Seton Hall still is tied for second place in the conference standings, tied with Xavier at 13 points. On its home pitch, the Hall is 2-0-3 this season, earning draws in its last two matches on home turf.

The Wildcats enter this weekend's BIG EAST action with seven points. The top six sides will qualify for the postseason BIG EAST Tournament. Currently, Creighton and St. John's are deadlocked for the sixth position with nine points. UConn is in eighth place with eight points while DePaul also has seven points.

Villanova will conclude the BIG EAST portion of its schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at DePaul. It will also host its Senior Day on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference clash with the United State Naval Academy. Kickoff for that game is set for 3 p.m.
