Villanova, Pa. - The Villanova golf team finished the first day of action, hosting the annual Wildcat Fall Invitational. The tournament is being held at Radnor Valley Country Club, one of the Philadelphia regions hidden gems.
Villanova has two teams competing in the tournament, comprised of all 10 student-athletes on the roster. The first team finished the day in 4th, at +23 (296+287), while the second team sits in 7th at +42 (310+292).
For the Wildcats,
Noah Peck has paced the team, currently sitting tied for 8th place at 3-over (143). Peck has tallied eight birdies and one eagle after the first two rounds, both good enough for second best in the tournament.
Matt Davis was not far being Peck all afternoon, finishing at 5-over par (145). Davis followed up a first round score of 73, with a score of 72 on his second go around. The senior is tied for the third most birdies with seven through two rounds.
Peter Weaver shot +6 (74+72, 146) in his first competition after winning his first career tournament two weeks ago.
Luke Alexander and
Matthew Copeland have both shot 9-over par (149) through two rounds. Alexander shot 78 and 71 respectively and has shot even on his par-3s to this point, second best in the tournament. For Copeland, he also improved his score from round to round, shooting 77 in the first, and 72 in the second.
To round out both lineups,
Danny Dougherty sits at +14 (80+74),
Vimal Alokam shot +15 (83+72),
Jonahtan Elkins finished the day at +17 (73+83),
Jack O'Hara shot +17 (79+78) and
Matt Minerva rounded out the 'Cats at +21 (86+75)
The Wildcats will tee off for round three at 8:00 AM tomorrow.
