Farmingdale, NY - Villanova golf finishes in seventh place (+21) at the Doc Gimmler Intercollegiate hosted by St. Johns, on Sunday afternoon.
Peter Weaver (68+71+67) took medal honors, scoring the best out of any golfer competing in the tournament. He shot 2 under in round one and after 36 holes he sat at 1 under. In the third and final round, Weaver eagled on the fifth hole and also had three birdies. The final score of 4 under put him one stroke ahead of second place.

Patrick Aylward on Weaver's performance, "Peter played rock solid all weekend, especially coming down the stretch birdieing the 17th hole all three rounds." Aylward continued, "He had a strong tournament last weekend and built off of it for this weekend."
The rest of the Wildcats put in a solid performance, placing the team in 7/14.
Matthew Copeland and
Noah Peck each finished at +8 and
Vimal Alokam and
Matt Minerva each shot +13 over three rounds of action.
Jack O'Hara finished the individual tournament tied for 63rd after shooting +16.
Columbia won the event with a team score of +5 followed by Harvard and UCONN tied in second at +6. Yale and host St. Johns tied for fourth shooting +11, Navy shot +16 for sixth and Villanova's score of +21 placed them in seventh. Lafayette finished eighth (+22), Towson and Lehigh ninth (+25), Colgate and Iona 11th (+36), Holy Cross 13th (+37), and Hofstra finished 14th (+75).
