Powell's Point, NC - In their first ever appearance in the OBX/ODU Intercollegiate, the Villanova golf team sits in 8th place of 17 competitors. The team shot 287 after the first 18 holes, putting them at 3-over par. 

The Wildcats were led by Peter Weaver who finished the day at -2 (69). After shooting even on the back nine, Weaver recorded three birdies on the final four holes of the front nine to shoot 2-under par. Matthew Copeland shot -1 (70) after the first round, with two birdies on the day. Vimal Alokam and Jonathan Elkins shot +3 (74) for Villanova at Kilmarlic Golf Club. Noah Peck rounded out the lineup at +7 (78). 

For the tournament, Georgetown and Delaware were tied after the first day, at -6 (278).  Drue Nicholas (Drexel) led all individuals at -6 (65) after round one. He recorded eight birdies.
