Jonesborough, TN - Late Tuesday afternoon, the Villanova golf team finished their fourth tournament of the season at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. The team finished 15th, with a team score of 902, shooting 290 (+2) in the first round, 308 (+20) in the second and 304 (+16) in the third and final round.
For the Wildcats,
Peter Weaver and
Matthew Copeland both shot even in their final rounds. Weaver had the best finish on the team, at +4 (T-64), while Copeland's final round score of even placed him at +9 (T-79).
Luke Alexander and
Matt Davis tied for 90th, with scores of +18.
Noah Peck shot +20 after three days of action to round out the Villanova lineup.
Host #20 ETSU took home the team win, with a score of -35 (277+275+277, 829). #50 Charlotte and #40 Louisville tied for second, with a score of -29. Benn Carr of Georgia Southern took home the individual title, finishing the tournament at -13 (68+69+66, 203), shooting -6 in the third round.
Villanova will travel to Powell's Point, NC for their next tournament, the ODU/Kilmarlic Invitational. The event will begin on Sunday, October 24 and last three days at Kilmarlic Golf Club.
