WILDCATS WRAP UP LARRY ELLIS INVITATIONAL ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Five Events Were On The Villanova Slate On Second Day Of Princeton Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. - Action wrapped up at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday afternoon, with Villanova competing in five events to close out the two-day meet on the Princeton campus. Two sprints and three field events made up the Wildcats schedule for Saturday's events.

Sophomore sprinter Konrad Bayer (Naperville, Ill.) recorded a season-best time of 56.58 in the 400 meter hurdles, while junior Utsav Deshpande(Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) raced to a time of 57.73. Sophomore Dan Powers (Chadds Ford, Pa.) produced a time of 50.29 in the 400 meters.

Junior thrower Henry Sise (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) led Villanova in the field events with a seventh place finish in the shot put. He threw for a distance of 15.66 meters to establish his top mark of the season to this point. Freshman Alex Telma (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded a mark of 12.95 meters.

In the jumps, freshman Jacob Kelly (Longmeadow, Mass.) came in eighth in the high jump with a height of 2.00 meters and freshman Michael Troup(Doylestown, Pa.) was ninth in the long jump with a distance of 6.82 meters. Troup was followed by sophomore Steve Testa (Warminster, Pa.) with a jump of 6.42 meters and freshman Vincent Sengelmann who had a mark of 6.13 meters. Freshman Ryan Tompkins (Farmingdale, N.J.) cleared a height of 1.90 meters in the high jump.
