AUBURN, Ala. - Villanova had six sprinters competing in the War Eagle Invitational at Auburn on Saturday afternoon. The top results for the Wildcats included a runner-up finish in the 4x400 meter relay and a third place showing for junior Ville Lampinen (Vantaa, Finland) in the 800 meters.
Lampinen posted a time of 1:50.94 in the 800 meters to place third out of 22 runners. He also ran on the second leg of the 4x400 relay and helped the Wildcats finish with a time of 3:13.44. Freshman Amir Brock (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J.) led off the relay and was followed by Lampinen, freshman Brian Faust (Stone Mountain, Ga.) and freshman Keegan Hughes (Malvern, Pa.).
Brock led Villanova with a seventh place finish and a time of 47.70 in the 400 meters, while Faust was eighth in 47.87 and freshman Tory Young(Baltimore, Md.) registered a time of 49.39. Hughes tallied a seventh place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.11.
