WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Junior thrower Alex Zimmerman (Lititz, Pa.) opened up the 53rd annual Colonial Relays for Villanova on Thursday afternoon by competing in the university section of the hammer. She threw for a distance of 32.86 meters, finishing ninth in her flight and 19th overall.

The majority of events at the meet take place throughout the day on Friday, with the competition winding down on Saturday afternoon.
