HAVERFORD, Pa. - Junior Nicole Armstrong (Sydenham, Ont.) ran a strong race and finished first out of 43 runners at the Haverford Invitational on Friday afternoon. A small group of Villanova athletes took part in the local meet.

Armstrong covered the three-mile Alumni Course on the Haverford campus in 17:47.8 to earn the win. She and junior teammate Alexandra Russo (Bellport, N.Y.) were the top two overall finishers, with Russo the runner-up in 17:59.4. Junior Rebecca Del Rossi (Canton, N.Y.) also was in action and finished 11th with a time of 18:53.4.
