NEWARK, DE - The Villanova men's tennis team defeated the University of Delaware on Sunday, March 18th by a match score of 7-0 at the Delaware Field House. The win improves 'Nova's record to 3-4 on the season. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed a day due to inclement weather.

In the match, the Wildcats won all six singles matches, five in straight sets, and two of the three doubles matches to post the victory over the Blue Hens, who drop to 0-2 on the season. Delaware's lone winner was the No. 1 doubles team of David Mouber and Lee Kennedy which downed Josh Schofield and Casey Simmons by an 8-6 score.

Villanova's No. 6 singles player, Casey Simmons, took the Blue Hens' Pat Seitz to three sets in his victory of 5-7, 6-3 and 6-4. In other matches, Brad Adams downed Mouber 6-3 and 6-3 at No. 1, Schofield downed Kennedy 6-4 and 6-2 at No. 2, A. J. Rohde defeated Delaware's Sanjay Khindri 6-1 and 6-3 at No. 3, Ryan Devine downed Ari Zweig 6-3 and 6-3 at No. 4, and Paul Moore ousted John Fogelgren 6-4 and 7-6 at the No. 5 spot.

The 'Cats get back into action on Thursday, March 22nd when they play host to Lehigh at 3:00 pm at the Villanova Tennis Complex.
