'Nova Takes the Wind Out From Under Hawks

After being rained out the day before, Villanova played host to cross-town rival St. Joseph's University on Wednesday, April 5th. Whether it was the extra day's rest or not, the 'Cats were victorious over St. Joseph's with a match score of 6-1, improving their season record to 9-5.

Despite one loss in each singles and doubles, the Wildcats prevailed through the rest of the matches on the afternoon. On the singles side, Villanova swept through in straight sets from the second through sixth posts.

In doubles action, the second doubles team of Ramon Prats and Josh Schofield defeated the Hawks' Damon Dennin and Shawn Farrokn, 8-3. Also, putting another mark in the win column were A.J. Rohde and Chris Gonzalez at the three spot, as they won over Tom Hoshall and Pat Mulvaney, 8-0.

The Wildcats will travel to Easton, Penn. on Thursday, April 6th to go up against the Leopards of Lafayette College.
