The Villanova University men's tennis team defeated the University of Massachusetts Minutemen on Sunday, April 2nd by a score of 5-2. The win improves the 'Cats record to 8-5 on the year.

'Nova's Robert Waibel recorded a win at first singles by defeating UMass' Steve Prisco 6-3 and 6-4. Wildcats Michael Mock, Josh Schofield, and Ryan Devine also got the win in their singles matches versus the Minutemen.

At second doubles, the team of Ramon Prats and Casey Simmons got the win over UMass' Parsa Samii and Will Shaw in a decision of 8-6. Also getting an 8-6 victory over their opponents was the Wildcats' third doubles pairing of Ryan Devine and A.J. Rohde.

Villanova is slated to play host to cross-town rival St. Joseph's University on Tuesday, April 4th.
