Villanova Golf Finishes Fifth At Big East Championships

The Villanova University golf team placed fifth at the 2000 Big East Conference Championship held at The Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind. Villanova shot 309 in the first round on Saturday, April 29 and a 297 on Sunday, April 30 for a two-day total of 606. Seton Hall won the team title with a score of 580.

Leading the way for the Wildcats was junior Dugan Condon (Rochester, N.Y.) who shot a first round 77 and a sizzling second round of 69 for 146 which was good enough for a seventh place tie in the individual standings. For his efforts, Condon was named to the 2000 All-Big East team. Also recording a top 20 finish for Villanova was sophomore Garrett Feduke who finished 12th with 148 (78/70).

Other scorers for the Wildcats included junior Jeff Skookus (Suffield, Conn.) who placed 27th with 158 (75/83), and sophomores Chris Ellis (Boulder, Colo,) and Nick Maselli (Fishkill, N.Y.) who tied for 31st with two-day totals of 160. Ellis shot 83 and 77, while Maselli shot 79 and 81.
