The Villanova women's tennis team lost to the visiting Lady Pirates of Hampton University in a match played on March 22nd. Hampton handed the 'Cats an 0-9 decision, making the team's record fall to 8-5 on the year.

Despite the defeat, Villanova sophomore Julie Darne went three sets at first singles against her opponent Kate Stecova of Hampton. After winning the first set 6-4, Darne dropped the next two 4-6 and 4-6 to give up the loss. Also going three sets for the Wildcats was sophomore Ashley Young. Young gave up the last two sets in the loss 6-4 and 6-4 after coming away victorious with a 6-3 win in the first.

'Nova returns to action on Monday, March 27th when they host Towson University.
