The Wildcats defeated the Fordham Rams 7-0 on Saturday, September 25th in men's tennis action. With the win, Villanova moves to 2-0 in their fall season. The 'Cats held Fordham to just two sets in each of the six singles matches on the afternoon.
Villanova's Casey Simmons, a junior out of Burnsville, Minnesota, recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the fourth singles post over the Rams' Stefan Hirschler. Simmons record for the season now stands at a perfect 2-0. Four of the Wildcats' six singles contenders posted at least one 6-0 set in their wins.
In doubles competition 'Nova captured all three matches. Robert Waibel and Ramon Prats led off with an easy 8-4 win over Will Klocke and Josh Krieg to set the way for the rest of the Wildcats to come in and capture their prey.
The team returns to action on Tuesday, September 28th when they will host the LaSalle University Explorers at 3:00p.m.
