Men's Tennis Remains Unbeaten With Win Over Millersville

On Thursday, Sept. 30, the Villanova University men's tennis team traveled to Millersville and emerged with a 4-3 victory. With the victory, the Wildcats remained unbeaten on the season with a 4-0 record.

In singles play, junior Josh Schofield, freshman Ryan Devine and senior Mike Alexander were each victorious. All three players won in straight sets for Villanova and head coach Bob Batman.

In doubles competition, the Wildcats swept the Marauders in three matches. Senior Robert Waibel and Alexander defeated Millersville's Kintner and Petrinovic 8-6, in No. 1 doubles play. In No. 2 doubles action, Schofield and junior Casey Simmons beat Mellinger and Miller 8-3. Devine, and senior Michael Mock were also victorious, in No. 3 doubles play, defeating Orban and Marmor.

The Wildcats will resume play on Oct. 8-10, traveling to Towson University, for the Towson Invitational.
